Hi, my name is Jelmar a young creative from a small village in the Green Heart of the Netherlands. Growing up in a quiet area meant finding your own ways to stay busy, which is where my love for storytelling and filmmaking was born.

In 2017 I co-produced my first short film and never really stopped. Over the years I wrote, directed and produced multiple short films, taking on nearly every role myself. Kwelling, Arglist and Waterschim were full ownership projects writing, directing, DOP, audio and editing all handled solo. The White Room I produced, wrote and edited, while Creep was a pure directing and writing exercise focused on tension and atmosphere. Niets is wat het Lijkt* pushed me further into character-driven narrative. On Hooked Up With Nature I worked as camera operator, audio engineer and editor on a live TV format a completely different pace that sharpened my discipline on set.

Professionally I worked as a production assistant at Omroep MAX on programmes like Carrie op Vrijdag and MAX Maakt Mogelijk, and produced a full campaign video for Damen Yachting.

Film is where I feel most at hometelling stories, solving problems on set and making things work with whatever you have.
