David van der Meijde was born in 1991 in The Netherlands in a very creative environment; his father is a successful photographer and his mother was a famous hat designer.


The real magic happened when he went to the movies and saw Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings on the big screen. The worlds on the big screen captivated him and he knew he wanted to make movies.
