As part of the celebration of the fortieth anniversary of punk, EYE is screening a number of films by Dick Rijneke and Mildred van Leeuwaarden on June 9, 2016: Pinkel, Groeten uit Rotterdam deel 3 (Huize Schoonderloo), and Rock Against Religion.
June 9, 2016, performance starts at 7:30 PM in the presence of the creators.

In the late 1970s, Rijneke was given carte blanche by the VPRO for a three-part series about the wondrous Rotterdam art and music world, 'Groeten uit Rotterdam' (Greetings from Rotterdam). However, the focus on the punk scene was poorly received. 'A Rotterdam disaster,' wrote de Volkskrant. After the controversial one-off television broadcast, the series was not rediscovered until 2007. Huize Schoonderloo is the third part of this renowned series by Dick Rijneke and Mildred van Leeuwaarden.

HUIZE SCHOONDERLOO (Greetings from Rotterdam) 1980, color, 60 minutes
From Huize Schoonderloo, the renowned artist collective KK Dubio fights the 'System' with the publication of the magazine Raket, the music label KingKong Records, and Red Rock featuring, among others, the punk band the Rondos. “Which side will you be on?”

PINKEL 1982, color, 75 minutes
A portrait of punker Pinkel, guitarist of the Tändstickorshocks, who starts a family at the age of twenty with seventeen-year-old Marjan. Anarchy is no more. Featuring performances by the Tändstickorshocks and poet/writer Jules Deelder, who is forced to leave the stage during RAR 1979, booed and spat upon by the audience.
Pinkel premiered at the International Film Festival Rotterdam. The film was a great success and was subsequently released in Dutch cinemas.
