Silent Ones was nominated for the Tiger Award Competition,
the flagship of the Rotterdam Film Festival, where the film had its world premiere during the 42nd edition.
After that, the film made a triumphant tour of many major international film festivals.
and won eight prizes in the process.

Synopsis
Young Eastern European Csilla wanders around with her little brother Isti in search of a better life.
However, when she regains consciousness in a car wreck at a remote location, Isti has vanished without a trace.
Without saying a word, she boards a cargo ship to fulfill her promise to Isti:
She tries to leave her country and her past behind and flee to Western Europe.
On the ship, she meets the businessman Gábor, who promises her a bright future.
But on the stifling and dark ship, she finds no comfort. Although the long wanderings with Isti
as vivid memories remain, Csilla loses her grip on her life.
The boat trip turns into a surreal trip of life and death.
