The four Benelux Film Funds launched a new co-development contribution in May 2025 to strengthen cross-border collaboration between creative teams, with the VAF acting as executive fund during this pilot phase. From twelve submitted fiction and animation projects, an independent evaluation committee selected three projects, each receiving 50,000 euros. The awards were announced at the Marché du Film in Cannes, in the presence of the fund directors and Minister-President Elisabeth Degryse. The scheme, which runs for two years, offers producers scope for joint development and financing strategies, while the next deadline falls on 16 March 2027.
