Since June 12, 2026, the flat-rate cost deduction for copyright and neighboring rights has been linked to the Artwork Certificate. The Kunstwerk Commission has now introduced a simplified application procedure via workinginthearts.be. Those who only wish to retain the cost deduction do not need to go through the full process that applies to, for example, the Artwork Grant or the Article 1bis scheme. The application date is decisive: it determines from when you are entitled to the deduction. Anyone who does not yet have a standard or plus Artwork Certificate would do well to act quickly and send a copy to the relevant authority.
