Miklós Keleti is currently shooting his feature film debut, Soma, a Belgian-Canadian-Dutch-Estonian co-production. The film follows two scientists, played by Mark O'Brien and Anneke Sluiters, whose son has a rare speech disorder. The father develops an experimental drug, crossing ethical boundaries in the process. Keleti combines an auteur approach with genre elements, as he did previously in Patterns, which won three awards at the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival. Velvet Films is producing the film; the company is also responsible for Calle Malaga and The Swedish Torpedo. Shooting is taking place in Estonia and the Netherlands and is expected to be completed in mid-September.
