Judith Colell is currently directing Maestras, a historical drama about five young teachers who clandestinely fight for humanist education in Spain in 1940 during the Franco regime. The script was written by Colell and producer Antonio Chavarrías based on real events. The lead roles are played by Bruna Cusí, Daniela Brown, Nausicaa Bonnín, Greta Fernández, and Natalia de Molina, while the shoot lasts six weeks in Barcelona, Mataró, and Cardedeu. The film is produced by Oberon Media and Vilaüt Films in co-production with the Belgian Saga Film, with support from ICAA, ICEC, and Movistar Plus+, and Filmax handles Spanish distribution.
