The interactive VR experience *A Long Goodbye* by Kate Voet and Victor Maes has won the Cristal for Best Immersive Work at the Annecy Film Festival, marking the project's tenth award following previous prizes at the Venice Film Festival. The production, produced by Emmy Oost for Cassette for timescapes in co-production with Tarantula and Valk Productions, follows Ida, a 72-year-old pianist with dementia, allowing the viewer to experience her fading consciousness via VR while interaction with objects and tape shooting gradually restores her memories. The project received support from the VAF/Filmfonds.
