On the closing night of the Cannes Film Festival, Emmanuel Macchia and Valentin Campagne received the Award for Best Male Performance for their roles in Coward, the third feature film by Lukas Dhont, who thereby makes Flemish film history following the Caméra d'Or for Girl in 2018 and the Grand Prix for Close in 2022. Dhont wrote the screenplay together with Angelo Tijssens, while Frank Van den Eeden handled the cinematography and Valentin Hadjadj once again composed the music. Lumière is releasing the film in the Benelux this autumn, with Mubi acquiring the rights for Spain, Italy, Latin America, and the United Kingdom.
