The three-part Belgian docuseries *The Deal with Iran*, directed by Lennart Stuyck and written by Maarten Stuyck, examines the Belgian-led operation that thwarted a bombing of the Iranian opposition movement, where the subsequent hostage diplomacy led to the release of aid worker Olivier Vandecasteele after fifteen months of imprisonment in Tehran. The brothers approached the material as a spy thriller, with visual inspiration from 1970s films, archival footage, and original court files enhancing the series' authenticity. The music was composed by Raf Keunen. *The Deal with Iran*, a Diplodokus production with VRT Canvas, has its international premiere at Canneseries on April 28.
