The short fiction film Pithead by directing duo Pol De Plecker and Wannes Vanspauwen has been selected for the Quinzaine des Cinéastes in Cannes, where the film will have its world premiere in this independent side section. In the film, a woman braves a snowstorm in an icy, dry landscape, after which she finds a penguin stuck in a tree in an abandoned black metal bar. The project previously went through the Midpoint Institute's development program after being selected by the Short Film Corner in Cannes. The production is by Animal Tank, in co-production with Origine Films, with support from the VAF/Filmfonds.
