Lumière and owner Walter Vander Cruysse have reached an agreement on the transfer of Studio Skoop, Flanders' oldest arthouse cinema. Lumière will reopen the cinema this summer on Sint-Annaplein in Ghent. The Ghent City Council approved an annual subsidy of €100,000 to support Studio Skoop's structural operations, while the matter is still on the agenda of the March city council meeting. Lumière aims to expand the cinema with a broad arthouse program, educational offerings, and collaborations with cultural partners and festivals. Ghent will once again have three cinemas and two arthouse cinemas, each with five screens.
