Disobedient
Why
Disobedient is a theatre company from Sweden, recently moved to Belgium, that has had plenty of productions going since we were founded in 2005. Now, we are looking for semi-pro actors, or new talants, from Belgium, that are interested to do some hard theatre work and bring the music based play WHY to life.
WHY is a play about the love of John Lennon and Yoko Ono, and the opening night will be on the 8th of December 2010, which is the anniversary day of the killing of Mr Lennon - this year it's actually 30 years since the world lost one of it's most exciting artists!
We are looking for both male and female actors, from the age of 18 and up, to do big or smaller parts in the play.
The director, and Artistic Leader of Disobedient, Malin Westberg has her roots in the works of Artaud and Grotowskij. Malin Westberg has been working for over 20 years experiencing the art of theatre, mainly in Sweden. Malin is very demanding in her work, but she is also a good listener, which might differ a bit from other directors.
As an actor in this play, you will have to sing, dance and do a proper character work. It will be very developing for you as an explorer of the art of theatre.
The rehersals will be in English, as the play will be performed in English. The assistant of director is native Belgian though, so everything told at rehersals will be translated.
