By submitting a short horror film, there is a chance to be broadcast on the PRIME VIDEO channel FEAR. The Prime Video horror channel FEAR is looking for talent in the Netherlands and Belgium and offers them a chillingly beautiful platform. Filmmakers have only this month left to submit a short film for the very first edition of the Fear Horror Short Festival. In addition to a chance at prize money, awards granted by a professional jury, and eternal fame, their films will be seen by a large horror-loving audience on the Prime Video horror channel FEAR. The deadline for submissions for the Fear Horror Short Festival 2023 is September 30 via https://fearhorrorfestival.nl/. The submitted film must be a (reasonably) recent original/original work with a length of at least 5 and a maximum of 20 minutes. The language of instruction may be Dutch or English. The theme is horror/thriller, but that is of course as broad as you wish. From a blunt-axe serial killer to a romantic zombie swoon-worthy drama, from a hilarious Halloween spoof to a child-friendly slasher or a musical exorcism: the only limitation on the genre boundary is the maker's imagination. Wij, filmmakers Lisa de Bye en Didi Spaans, hebben een YouTube kanaal opgericht genaamd Over the Shoulder waarmee wij behind-the-scenes video’s maken over de Nederlandse en Vlaamse filmwereld. Met een gedreven filmteam ontdekken en documenteren wij de verschillende filmproducties en technieken om mensen zodoende een kijkje te geven in de wereld van film. Sinds vandaag staat er een gloednieuwe aflevering online over de Vlaamse Philine Janssens die als intimiteitscoördinator op filmsets werkt. Een paar weken geleden mochten we op één van haar sets verschijnen om te filmen voor ons kanaal. Dit zal de eerste behind the scenes video over dit vakgebied zijn. Hierbij meer achtergrondinformatie over Philine Janssens en deze draaidag: In de nasleep van de #metoo-beweging blijft seksualiteit en film een veelbesproken, maar moeilijk onderwerp. Philine Janssens (41) is intimiteitscoördinator op filmsets en probeert dit stigma te doorbreken. Wat houdt dit in? Janssens begeleidt acteurs en andere mensen op de set bij het opnemen van een intieme scène. Waar voorheen veel werd gesproken over ‘improvisatie’ en ‘spontaniteit’, kan zo’n scène nu gechoreografeerd worden door een professional. Hoe gaat zij precies aan het werk? En wat komt er kijken bij het beroep intimiteitscoördinator? Hoe vinden de rest van de crew zo’n aanwezigheid op set? Het YouTube-kanaal Over the Shoulder gaat met deze vragen aan de slag en neemt de set van de korte film ‘Die Täuschung’ onder de loep. Tegenwoordig is een intimiteitscoördinator op professionele filmsets verplicht bij het opnemen van seksscènes, maar dat betekent niet dat de noodzaak ook in de amateuristische en low-budget-filmwereld is doorgedrongen. Regisseur Tom van Immerseel heeft wél gekozen voor een intimiteitscoördinator bij het opnemen van een intieme scène voor zijn film, welke zich afspeelt in de Tweede Wereldoorlog. Janssens zegt ook: “Op sets waar ik naartoe ga, beseffen mensen zich ook vaak van ‘Ah ja, hoe kan het dat dat nog niet bestond? We doen toch ook geen stunt doet zonder een stunt coördinator?' “ De film waaraan Philine Janssens meewerkte, en waar het team van Over the Shoulder bij aanwezig mocht zijn, heet Die Täuschung. De titel betekent de misleiding of het bedrog en gaat over verloren hoop en liefde in het Duitsland van 1944. Janssens benadrukt: "Jong of oud. Ervaren of niet. Man of vrouw of x. Daar valt eigenlijk geen lijn door te trekken, iedereen heeft grenzen. Dat dat niet zo is, wil ik echt uit de wereld helpen. Mannen willen ook vaak hun billen bedekken. Het lichaam is zo specifiek, zo uniek en het leven brengt ook van alles met zich mee. De reden doet er ook helemaal niet toe, trauma’s moeten we ook allemaal niet zitten opgraven. Als het nee is, is het nee en dan werken we rondom die grenzen.” Ook benoemt Janssens: “Ik denk dat de tijd voorbij is dat een regisseur mag vragen aan acteurs om elkaar te verrassen. Dat zou niet meer veilig zijn, dat hoort niet meer met de #metoo-beweging. Mensen zijn daar veel bewuster mee bezig. Een stuntcoördinator zou ook niet zeggen: verras elkaar maar met een klop.” “Ik ben er om het te dedramatiseren. Ik ben er om te zorgen dat het wel lukt. Om te zorgen dat je meer krijgt dan wanneer je het zonder tekst, uitleg en zonder intimiteitscoördinator zou doen. Wij zijn geen politie op de set.
